Christy Lewis | Chief Operating Officer
As Chief Operating Officer, Christy provides supervision and guidance to the leadership team and supports the management of the culture we take so much pride in applying on a day to day basis. This culture exemplifies her passion to ensure that each person served enjoys a day they feel is meaningful to their interests, hopes, and dreams.
Christy brings over 30 years of experience working with children, adolescents, families and adults in the child welfare, IDD and mental health systems to SCFF. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development and a Master’s Degree in Social Work. In addition, Christy is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). Over her career, Christy has experienced both direct and leadership clinical and administrative situations which have shaped her skills today. These experiences helped her build valuable relationships with county agencies, local hospitals, and Non-profit providers across the state of PA.
Over time, Christy has served in many different roles from direct care professional, behavior specialist consultant, clinical director, chief operating officer and Executive Director.
In 2017, Christy put all of her experiences together and partnered to form a company called Our Own Home. She was a key contributor to establishing services in the western PA area from its inception.
Christy navigated the administrative requirements of starting this new, innovative company, while providing both direct supports and clinical oversight of the progressive services Our Own home offered to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, mental health disorders as well as those in recovery. Our Own Home merged with Supportive Concepts with Families in 2019 which was a natural progression for like-minded individuals. Since this merger Christy has been a leader in assisting even more individuals across a larger geography.
In summary, Christy’s past advocacy in community and educational settings as well as her leadership experience and ultimately her passion to help others provides a great asset for the executive team at SCFF and those that she both directly and indirectly serves on a daily basis.
